Located in the Ballarat suburb of Black Hill, the client brief included for some much needed upgrades to a Victorian era miners cottage. This work included a renovation to the existing kitchen and meals area and two small brick clad extensions (boxes), one housing a new living space and the other a master wing with bedroom, WIR and ensuite. The two brick boxes are linked by an outdoor decking area. The nature of the site sloping significantly to the rear of the block required a design solution that involved cleverly coordinated retaining walls, steps and landscaping. The project is just reward for courageous clients who battled the lows of building through COVID (the original concept design being for a double storey extension). Exquisitely constructed by Prestigious Homes, the beautiful detailing and management of difficult site conditions are a testament to their work.
